In 2017, dk active was founded in Brisbane, Australia. Our aim was to promote body positivity and acceptance in the activewear world, and one of the best ways to do this was by releasing our line of pregnancy workout gear.

As a brand, we’re not supposed to have favourites. But of course, we absolutely do. At dk active, we love a good workout tight. Especially ones that come up and over our bump and keep us – and bub of course – comfortable, and supported.

Exercise During Your Pregnancy With Our Gym Gear
Yes, you can exercise during pregnancy. This means you have the perfect excuse to let everyone see your super cute, supportive, and comfortable pregnancy gym gear. It is recommended that you avoid doing certain exercises; however, there are several that are specifically recommended to do during pregnancy, such as pilates.
Doing pilates during your pregnancy helps to maintain your abdominal muscle tone. This supports your growing bub, and your bump while minimising back pain. It can also help with labour, as it prepares you for pushing. Whilst mat classes can sometimes be an issue as your bump gets bigger and so much of the class takes place lying on your back, you can get around this by using an angled foam spine support, which will keep your head above your stomach.
Yoga is also a great way to strengthen your core. Doing prenatal yoga also improves your flexibility whilst allowing you to gain a sense of calm in an otherwise chaotic time. This is in thanks to its gentle movements, and the strong emphasis on breathing and meditation. It’s advisable in the 2nd trimester although beyond that, you should avoid the more complex poses that require twists which tug on your bump, and moves that require you to lie on your stomach for long periods, headstands and other inverted poses.
